Fundraising For Alverstoke Parish Centre

We Need Your Help!

The Project team has seen some changes in membership since 2015 when we first met to discuss the future of the Parish Centre. We successfully developed a design for a fabulous new building to serve the community for many years – but we were unable to raise the capital needed for the ambitious design. We reduced the requirements, decided to refurbish the existing building and construct an Annexe to provide additional space. We estimate that this alternative development will cost approximately £1.4million.

At September 2024, donations and pledges, the sale of a church property, fundraising events, gift aid and interest had raised over £510,000.

The Events team have made a huge difference to community life by organising and catering for many different events: monthly coffee mornings, afternoon teas, bridge afternoons, beetle drives, barn dances, concerts, quiz nights, sea shanty sing-a-longs, talks, wine, beer and gin tasting, evenings with magic, fashion shows, tabletop sales, the Alverstoke Garden Walkabout – something for everyone.

Will you join the events team? We have lost a few of our original members, and we need help to keep the community events going – not only until the site has been redeveloped and refurbished – but afterwards, as well.

The events have brought people together from all sectors of the community and we believe they are essential for building community resilience, improving health and well-being, and reducing loneliness.
